With the new ‘right to repair’, the European Union is sending a strong signal in favour of sustainability, durability and conscious consumption from 1 August 2026. For consumers, this means that high-quality vacuum cleaners should, in future, be even easier to repair and able to be used for longer – rather than being replaced prematurely.
For SEBO, this philosophy has always been a matter of course. Right from the development stage of our vacuum cleaners, we place great emphasis on durable construction, high-quality materials and ease of repair. Many components can be easily replaced – ensuring a long service life and consistently reliable performance.
Repair rather than replace
The new EU regulation strengthens consumer rights and promotes a more sustainable approach to electrical appliances. Manufacturers are required to make repairs easier and to supply key spare parts for a longer period of time.
SEBO wholeheartedly welcomes this development. A long-term supply of spare parts has been part of our quality promise for many years. After all, high-quality appliances should not become disposable products, but should remain in reliable use for many years.

Which vacuum cleaners are covered by the right to repair?
The European right to repair currently applies to corded domestic vacuum cleaners purchased on or after 1 August 2026. Cordless vacuum cleaners are not currently covered by these specific requirements.
Regardless of this, SEBO is committed to designing its cordless appliances to be as durable and easy to maintain as possible. Spare parts and accessories are also available for our cordless vacuum cleaners.
Can I have my SEBO vacuum cleaner repaired?
Yes. SEBO vacuum cleaners are designed for a long service life and are constructed to be particularly easy to repair. Many components can be replaced individually, so it is often not necessary to replace an entire assembly. If repairs are required, please contact your SEBO specialist dealer first.
How long are spare parts available for SEBO vacuum cleaners?
SEBO has always stood for durable products and a reliable supply of spare parts. That is why we generally keep original spare parts for our vacuum cleaners available for at least 7 years after a model has been discontinued – often for much longer. This means that many SEBO machines can still be repaired and used even after many years.
Where can I find spare parts for my SEBO model?
Original SEBO filter bags, filters and other accessories are available from authorised SEBO retailers. We also provide an order form for original spare parts for our corded domestic vacuum cleaners. You can find it here. There, you can select the spare parts you need and request them directly from us.

Can I replace wear parts myself?
Yes. Many wear parts in a SEBO vacuum cleaner can be replaced easily by yourself without the need for special tools. These include, for example, filters, dust bags, brush strips, brush rollers and nozzles. Our appliances are designed to make regular maintenance and minor replacement tasks particularly straightforward.

How much will it cost to repair my SEBO vacuum cleaner?
